START PROCUREMENT DEVELOPMENT
Procurement development begins with identifying the benefits and analyzing the baseline. Questions like "What are the strengths and weaknesses of our current procurement model?" help you identify where to focus your development efforts.
The direction of development is determined by setting goals – both short-term and long-term. This could mean, for example, cost savings, improving risk management or leveraging innovations. It is also important to identify the necessary resources and tools to carry out the development work efficiently and effectively.
In addition, procurement development is linked to other functions and goals of the company. How does it support business growth or operational efficiency? Finally, the success of development requires measuring results – whether it is savings, quality of collaboration or achievement of strategic goals.

CASE: PLANNING A PROCUREMENT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
In the procurement development project, cooperation was built around three workshops, where the direction and implementation of the development work were planned and defined. In the first workshop, a clear work plan was drawn up and the templates to be used were selected, which systematically guided the progress of the project.
The second workshop focused on the results of the current state studies. Based on these, common themes and key development areas were identified that supported the achievement of strategic goals.
In the third workshop, development priorities were derived from the current state and the procurement development project was defined in more detail. The project objectives, areas to be developed, responsibilities and resources for sub-projects were clearly defined. At the same time, new operating model and project schedule were created, which ensured that the project progressed in a goal-oriented and effective manner.

HOW CAN I HELP?
A procurement development feasibility study is an excellent way to map the current situation and determine development priorities. This provides the company with a clear starting point for an effective procurement strategy. Briefs and fact sheets, on the other hand, bring essential perspectives and tools to key people quickly and effectively.
I also offer Procurement Energization and Next Level workshops, which focus on concrete actions and inspiring development work. I can also support in planning and leading strategy work – whether it is drafting a procurement strategy, facilitating it or consulting.
